Wild Quest Fishing Tournament — Official Rules

Dates: Sunday, November 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM through Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 6:00 PM Eastern. Fish must be caught during these dates.

Entry: $5 per angler per tournament week, paid through wildquestoutfitter.shop. One entry per angler. Entries are non-refundable once the code word has been sent.

Eligibility: Open to anglers 18 and older, or younger anglers entered by a parent or guardian. Must hold a valid South Carolina saltwater fishing license where required.

Where you can fish: South Carolina Lowcountry saltwater only — the waters of Charleston, Colleton, Beaufort and Jasper counties — from shore, pier, dock, kayak or boat. Fish from ponds, lakes or other freshwater do not count. Judges may ask where a fish was caught.

Divisions: Redfish, speckled trout and sheepshead. Each division is judged by the length of the longest single fish, measured from the tip of the snout to the tip of the tail, to the nearest quarter inch.

Photo requirements

  • Every entrant receives the week's code word by text on Sunday morning.
  • Each photo must show the whole fish laid flat on a measuring board or ruler with the measurement readable, and the code word written on paper, a hand, a cooler lid or similar, visible in the same photo.
  • Photos must be original and unedited. DM them to @wildquestoutfitters by Saturday at 6:00 PM and say whether the fish was caught from shore or boat.
  • Each angler's longest fish in each division counts. You may enter more than one division.

Prizes

  • All entry fees go into one shared pot.
  • 1st place in each division: 20% of the pot, plus a Wild Quest shirt and hat.
  • 2nd place in each division: a Wild Quest shirt.
  • 3rd place in each division: a Wild Quest hat.
  • Best Shore Catch: the longest fish of any division caught from shore, pier, dock or wading wins a Wild Quest hat. The same fish can also place in its division.
  • If a division has no valid entries, that division's cash prize is not awarded.

Ties: If two fish are the same length, the fish submitted first wins.

Judging: Wild Quest Outfitters reviews every photo. Any photo that is missing the code word, can't be measured clearly, appears edited or reused, was caught outside the tournament waters, or breaks state fishing regulations will be disqualified. Judging decisions are final.

Fishing laws: All South Carolina size limits, bag limits and seasons apply. Catch, photo and release is encouraged. Undersized or out-of-season fish are disqualified.

Winners: Announced live Saturday night on @wildquestoutfitters. Winners are contacted by text and must respond within 7 days to claim their prize. Cash prizes are paid electronically.

Photo use: By submitting a photo, you allow Wild Quest Outfitters to share it on its website and social media.

Safety: Fish safely and follow all boating laws. Wild Quest Outfitters is not responsible for injury, loss or damage during the tournament.
